Craving Spanish food? Vamos to Horta!
HORTA is a Spanish restaurant that recently opened its doors in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district. The restaurant is located beneath the new Philips headquarters on Parnassusweg.
This restaurant effortlessly shifts from brunch to lunch and from after-work drinks to dinner. The vibe is unmistakably Spanish, with strong influences from Valencia and Catalonia.
Owner Raul Lansink travelled to Spain for many years because his parents lived there. There, he experienced the Mediterranean lifestyle and vibrant food culture — something he felt was still missing in Amsterdam. “Amsterdam has plenty of French restaurants, but surprisingly few Spanish ones. People immediately think of touristy tapas, while Spanish cuisine is so much richer than that.”
The dishes are served the traditional Spanish way: large pans are placed directly on the table. Guests eat with a spoon, straight from the pan, each from their own side, without first serving onto plates. And don’t forget the crispy layer at the bottom — according to connoisseurs, that’s the best part.
Classic favourites from Spanish cuisine are also well represented on the menu, including tortilla de patatas con alioli, patatas bravas, Spanish fish stew, chuletón (ribeye), and wild calamari.
And — something everyone appreciates these days — at accessible prices! Reservations or a look at the menu.
HORTA was looking for a reliable laundry and linen rental partner for their napkins. That’s where we came in: Napking now delivers fresh, professionally cleaned laundry twice a week, including eco-grey napkins and, for the terrace during spring and summer, our eco cotton 100×100 tablecloths.
